Aug. 1st, 2020 11:44 pmWow. It's been a long while since I've posted. A lot of stuff has happened in the past two weeks that are big deal and a bit life altering.
The first one is Bug is officially 18 years old EIGHTEEN. HOW. He's not finished high school yet as he wanted to spread out his last year over two so he wasn't overwhelmed with courses. And with Covid, its going to be 50% in school and 50% online and he's very uneasy with it. I think there is an option to do 100% online and if he wants to that, then so be it. His plans for after HS is to take a year off, work and take a college prep course (He no longer wants to be in the film industry but is unsure of what to do) before going off to college to do what ever he chooses.
But freaking hell, I raised a child from baby to adult and didn't completely mess him up!
Second big news is my store is closing. Vice president, HR and a HR rep from a company under our banner came in and announced it Thurs. morning. We all knew it was going to happen for the past couple years but it still feels like a shock to us. So I have to prep and make sure I have a job somehow, either by transferring or getting hired over to the other company. If I want to go to the other company I have to reply by mid August......which IDK, I don't want it to be another Target situation even though this company is well established, but I would keep my benefits, go right into the same position I have now (Supervisor/Office)..... Its a lot to think about. But over the coming weeks I'm going to take advantage of my library card and get some free courses through LinkedIn done, along with tweaking my resume. All I know is I will be staying until the very last day so I can say goodbye to my co-workers.
So, yeah that's life right now.
